Lecciones de sabios maestros constructores y la perdurable sabiduría de una abuela
The wisdom of my grandmother still echoes in my heart today: “Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.” However, as I reflect more deeply on her words, I realize there’s an unspoken truth she didn’t fully communicate: You must choose the sweetness.
God has given us free will, and He will not violate it. This profound truth is captured in Deuteronomy 30:19, where He sets before us life and death, blessings and curses, urging us to choose life. The choices we make—daily, in our leadership, in our lives—set the course not only for us but for the generations that follow.
God knows that we often lack the wisdom to make the right choices. In His grace, He provides us access to His mind and heart, offering guidance and wisdom to navigate the challenges of leadership. As leaders, we may be tempted to “fix” things, especially people, by making decisions for them or steering their paths. But true leadership requires respecting others’ free will.
There’s a difference between empowering others and violating their autonomy. As leaders, our role is not to force the right choices on others but to provide wisdom, guidance, and a path that aligns with God’s purpose. Our leadership should encourage people to make the right choices for themselves, drawing from the wisdom God has given us.
This approach doesn’t diminish our role but enhances it. We are called to be wise master builders (1 Corinthians 3:10). A master builder isn’t someone who imposes their vision forcefully on a structure, but someone who lays a solid, dependable foundation—whether in a church, a home, or an organization.
When we choose to lead with wisdom, humility, and God’s guidance, we build something enduring, something that reflects His heart. A life surrendered to God is infectious. The sweetness of God’s wisdom and peace flows through us, impacting those we lead. We become a living example of choosing life, spreading the sweet savor of a life aligned with God’s will (2 Corinthians 2:15).
As leaders, our influence is amplified when we make these choices daily, walking in God’s wisdom, humility, and surrender. The work we do isn’t just about creating structures or achieving goals—it’s about cultivating environments where others can thrive in their own relationship with God, making their own choices, and contributing to a legacy of love, wisdom, and impact.
Key Points:
-
Choosing Life: Every day with Jesus is sweeter, but it’s a choice we must actively make. God sets before us life and death, blessings and curses (Deuteronomy 30:19). The leadership decisions we make have a ripple effect on generations to come.
-
Wisdom and Free Will: God offers us wisdom, but He will not force us to make the right choices. As leaders, it’s essential to empower others to make their own choices without violating their free will.
-
Wise Master Builders: We are called to lay solid foundations in our leadership (1 Corinthians 3:10). This is not about controlling others but guiding them with wisdom, humility, and a heart surrendered to God’s will.
-
The Sweetness of a Surrendered Life: When we lead with wisdom and surrender to God’s guidance, we become a beacon of His sweetness. Our leadership reflects His heart and spreads the sweet savor of a life lived according to His will (2 Corinthians 2:15).
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of free will and for the wisdom You provide to make the right choices. We surrender our leadership to You and ask for the humility to seek Your guidance in all things. May our lives reflect Your sweetness, and may we empower others to make choices that honor You. Help us be wise master builders, laying strong foundations in our families, organizations, and communities. May our leadership leave a legacy that honors You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

-
Deuteronomy 30:19
"I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live."
-
1 Corinthians 3:10-15
"According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."
-
2 Corinthians 2:15
"For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing."
