Live and Lead Like an Eagle: Rise Above the Noise
There are only two animals God metaphorically uses to describe Himself in Scripture: the lion and the eagle. The lion represents His authority and kingship, but the eagle—oh, the eagle—that's a different kind of majesty. It's the symbol of vision, freedom, resilience, and divine strength.
And here’s the catch: you were born to soar just like the eagle.
Eagles Don’t Settle. They Soar.
In a world where the ground is crowded with distractions, comparisons, and chaos, the eagle takes to the skies. It flies alone or with other eagles—never with pigeons or scavengers. Eagles don’t eat what’s dead. They seek what’s alive and fresh. Why? Because they know their worth.
When an eagle fights a snake, it doesn’t battle it on the ground where the snake is strongest. Instead, it lifts the snake into the air—into unfamiliar territory—and the higher they go, the more the snake suffocates. That’s a leadership lesson right there: you don’t have to fight dirty battles on the ground. Elevate the situation. Bring it into your atmosphere. Let your altitude become your advantage.
The Eagle's Attributes: A Blueprint for Professional and Personal Power
-
Clear Vision – Eagles can see up to five kilometers away. In leadership and life, vision is everything. Where are you going? Who’s with you? What's in your blind spot?
-
Resilience – Eagles fly into the storm. They use the wind to rise even higher. When life hits hard, don’t retreat—rise. Let adversity become your updraft.
-
Fearlessness – An eagle doesn’t flinch in the face of threats. Professionals who lead with boldness don’t wait for opportunities—they create them.
-
Selective Community – Eagles fly with other eagles. Surround yourself with people who push you higher, not those who pull you back down to safe, familiar places.
-
Discernment – Just like the eagle refuses to eat what’s dead, we must learn to let go of expired relationships, expired dreams, expired ways of thinking. You can’t fly high with a belly full of dead weight.
When You’re Tired… Soar Anyway
Even eagles get weary. Even leaders feel overwhelmed. Even the boldest professionals feel like giving up. But Isaiah 40:31 gives us a divine reset:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles...”
Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means staying connected to the Source. It means pausing to realign your vision. It means trusting that God hasn’t forgotten your dreams, your grind, or your growth.
Takeaway: Elevate Everything
-
Don’t argue with snakes—elevate them.
-
Don’t feast on dead things—move toward what’s alive and life-giving.
-
Don’t fear the storm—use it.
-
Don’t stay grounded—you were designed to fly.
You are not average. You’re not built for the crowd. You’re an eagle—and it’s time to soar.
