Life is not a casual stroll—it’s a race. A high-stakes, purpose-driven pursuit. Paul draws from the familiar image of the ancient Isthmian Games—held in Corinth—to paint a vivid picture of spiritual discipline. These athletes trained with fierce determination, submitted to strict discipline, and sacrificed much for a temporary crown. How much more should we, as kingdom citizens, run to win an incorruptible crown?

1. Run With Intention – Not Just Participation (v.24)

Everyone may be in the race, but not everyone runs to win.
This isn’t about outperforming others—it’s about outdoing your past self. It's about refusing to settle. Paul’s charge is:
Run with purpose. Run with focus. Run with the goal in mind.

“So run, that ye may obtain.”
The Greek word brabeion (prize) speaks to a victor's reward—something worth striving for with all your might.

3. Run With Clarity and Conviction (v.26)

“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly...”
