Descubra la palabra hebrea que desbloquea el liderazgo con propósito
In a world that is constantly bustling, filled with distractions and the endless chatter of life's demands, it can feel almost impossible to slow down. But as I was walking one day, listening to a teaching, something resonated deeply in my heart—a truth about passion, action, and dominion that changed the way I viewed purpose.
Passionate Fire + Action = Opportunities
This formula seems to be the driving force behind the modern approach to success. We are often told that if we ignite the fire of passion within us and take determined action, we will open doors and create the opportunities we desire. While there's truth to this—passion combined with action can indeed move mountains—we often overlook a crucial part of the process: dom.
As I pondered this, the word “dom” came to mind. Initially, I assumed it was just another way to express dominion, a concept of ruling or authority over our circumstances. But as I took a deeper look into the Hebrew word "dom" (דום), I was struck by its meaning: silence, stillness, or to be quiet. It can refer to a cessation of movement or activity—a call to pause and be still. In religious contexts, it's often used to mean "hold thy peace" or "keep silence."
Why, I wondered, would this word come to me in a moment where I was reflecting on the power of dominion and action?
The Power of Stillness in Dominion
It became clear that in our pursuit of passionate fire and action, we often miss the divine direction that can only come when we are still. Yes, we are called to act, to move, and to take dominion over the circumstances of our lives. But we are also called to be still and know that God is in control. The Hebrew word memshalah (מֶמְשָׁלָה) translates to dominion, rule, or authority—this is the realm we are called to reign in. Additionally, radah (רָדָה) speaks to our ability to dominate situations rather than be dominated by them. We are given the power to exert authority and shape our sphere of influence.
However, we often miss the voice of God in the midst of our noise. It's easy to get caught up in the clamor of life, the hustle, the constant striving for success, and the endless demands of the world. But the stillness—dom—allows us to align ourselves with God's will. It is in those quiet moments of reflection, when we cease the noise of external and internal distractions, that we find clarity on how to move forward with purpose.
Action, But with Purposeful Pause
Dominion isn’t just about taking charge—it’s about taking charge with divine guidance. While we are called to be bold and courageous, to take action in the face of adversity, we must also recognize the power of stillness in our decision-making. Before we act, we must pause to listen to the wisdom that God provides. When we fail to do so, we risk taking steps that may not align with His plans.
In this life, we have been given dominion. But it requires a balance—a tension between action and silence. Passionate fire without stillness can lead to burnout or misguided efforts. But dom—the stillness that invites God's voice into our hearts—aligns us with His divine purpose, enabling us to take dominion over our lives, our circumstances, and our sphere of influence.
We must dom—be still, quiet, and listen. Only then can we truly take dominion.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the authority You’ve given us over our lives and circumstances. Help us to balance our passionate pursuits with moments of stillness, so that we may align ourselves with Your will. Teach us to listen to Your voice and trust in Your guidance. Give us the strength to take action when You direct us and the wisdom to pause when we need to hear from You. We trust that You will lead us into the divine opportunities You have prepared for us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
