Foundational Identity: The Cornerstone of Your Calling

As Kingdom Builders, the first and most critical framework we must establish revolves around our identity. Who are you, truly? Not what you do, or what you possess, but who are you in the eyes of the One who called you? Without a firm grasp of your identity in Christ, every other pursuit, every ambition, every decision, will lack true anchor. You become susceptible to the shifting sands of worldly affirmation, societal expectations, and personal insecurities.

My work at Chazon Strategies, across all its pillars, consistently circles back to this truth: your identity is not derived from achievement, but endowed by grace. Genesis 1:27 declares, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." This is not a suggestion; it is a foundational, unshakeable reality. Your inherent worth is established at creation, affirmed through redemption, and lived out in calling.

Coaching you in this area means peeling back layers of misconception, doubt, and external definitions. We look at:

    • Biblical affirmations: What does Scripture say about who you are as a child of God, an heir, a co-laborer with Christ?
    • Giftedness & Temperament: Understanding your unique design, not as a limitation, but as a specific set of tools for a specific purpose.
    • Overcoming Limiting Beliefs: Identifying and dismantling the internal narratives that contradict your God-given identity.

When your identity is secure, your calling clarifies, your discipline becomes purposeful, and your decisions are rooted in eternal perspective, not fleeting circumstance.

Defining and Discerning Your God-Given Calling

Once identity is firm, we move to calling. Many conflate calling with a job title, or a singular achievement. While your calling may manifest in your occupation, it is far broader. Your calling is the divine assignment, the unique expression of God's purpose through your life, for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom. It encompasses every sphere of your influence.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." – Colossians 3:23

This verse encapsulates the Kingdom Builder's approach to calling. It's not about what you do, but how and why you do it. My coaching framework for calling involves:

    • Passion & Burden Identification: What breaks your heart? What ignites your spirit? These are often signposts pointing to your calling.
    • Spiritual Gifts & Natural Talents Integration: How do your spiritual endowments and natural abilities converge to serve a greater purpose?
    • Season & Opportunity Analysis: Calling evolves. Discerning the current season and identifying the opportunities God has placed before you now.
    • Vision Casting & Goal Setting: Translating your calling into actionable, measurable steps that align with Kingdom values.

Discerning your calling is an ongoing dialogue with the Holy Spirit, not a one-time revelation. My role is to provide frameworks and questions that facilitate that dialogue, helping you cut through the noise and hear His voice more clearly.

Cultivating Godly Discipline: Actioning Your Purpose

A clear identity and a well-defined calling are potent, but without discipline, they remain theoretical. Discipline is not punishment; it is the deliberate, consistent action born of devotion and aligned with purpose. It is the bridge between aspiration and manifestation. For the Kingdom Builder, this isn't about rigid adherence to a legalistic code, but a joyful commitment to habits that empower your calling.

    Discipline for Kingdom Impact:

    • Spiritual Disciplines: Prayer, Scripture study, meditation, fasting, fellowship. These are non-negotiable fuel for the Kingdom Builder. We examine how to weave these into the fabric of your demanding life, not as add-ons, but as foundational practices.
    • Time Management & Prioritization: Learning to say 'no' to good things to say 'yes' to the best things. Developing systems that optimize your time for high-impact activities aligned with your calling.
    • Resource Stewardship: From finances to energy to relationships, how are you managing the resources God has entrusted to you to further His Kingdom?
    • Physical & Mental Well-being: Your body and mind are temples of the Holy Spirit. Sustaining them isn't selfish; it's essential for long-term effectiveness in your calling.

Through practical tools and accountability, I help clients integrate these disciplines, transforming intention into consistent action. This is where the rubber meets the road.

Decision-Making for Direction: Navigating the Path

Every day, we face a myriad of decisions – some small, some monumental. For the Kingdom Builder, these are not mere choices but directional pointers for your calling. Poor decision-making can derail purpose, while wise choices propel you forward with divine momentum.

My coaching approach to decision-making centers on:

    • Principled Assessment: Evaluating choices against Kingdom values, scriptural principles, and your clearly defined calling.
    • Probing Questions: Asking the right questions to uncover underlying motivations, potential outcomes, and alignment with God's will. For instance, 'Does this decision honor God?', 'Does it serve my calling?', 'Does it build up others?', 'Is it sustainable?'.
    • Seeking Counsel & Prayerful Discernment: Understanding when to seek godly advice and how to posture yourself to hear from the Holy Spirit.
    • Risk & Faith Assessment: Not all 'safe' decisions are the wisest. Learning to discern Spirit-led prompts that might involve stepping out in faith, even when inconvenient or uncomfortable.

This framework equips you to make decisions not just reactively, but proactively, with wisdom and prophetic insight, continually aligning your path with God's grand design for your life.

Building an Integrated Life: A Tapestry of Purpose

The ultimate goal of these frameworks is not to create separate compartments for your life (work, faith, family, personal hobbies) but to weave them into a seamless, integrated tapestry where every thread is imbued with purpose. An integrated life means your faith isn't just Sundays; it's Monday morning in the boardroom, Tuesday evening at the school play, and every moment in between.

    This holistic approach means:

    • No Sacred-Secular Divide: Recognizing that all of life, when lived for God’s glory, is sacred.
    • Harmony, Not Balance: Seeking a harmonious flow between different life domains, rather than a numerically perfect, elusive 'balance.'
    • Intentional Living: Every aspect of your life is approached with intention, reflecting your core identity and calling.
    • Legacy Building: Understanding that your daily choices are contributing to an eternal legacy, not just temporal success.

As S.N. Perkins, I am committed to helping Kingdom Builders, like yourself, construct this integrated life. It's a journey, not a destination, requiring continuous refinement and surrender. But with the right frameworks, you can navigate it with greater clarity, purpose, and impact.
