Talmid
תַּלְמִידtahl-MEED
Disciple, learner, apprentice. The Hebrew word for someone who follows a rabbi so closely they begin to move, speak, and work like him.
Why it matters.
A Talmid isn't a student who takes notes. A Talmid is an apprentice who copies a life. Jesus never called believers to attend; he called them to follow. Every Avodahian is a Talmid first — the framework, the sound, the apparel, the community all exist to help you copy the Rabbi in real time.
Discipleship is the operating layer under every other Yesodot. Without Talmid, Musar is self-improvement and Chazon is ambition. With Talmid, both become worship.
